Privacy Policy

Overview

GliderCare is a sugar glider care management app built for owners, by an owner. The service is operated by an individual developer.

GliderCare collects only what is needed to run the service. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or share your information with anyone except the vendors listed below. Questions about this policy? Email us at hello@glidercare.app — we respond within a few business days.

Data we collect

Account data — your email address and name, collected when you create an account. Account authentication is handled by Clerk. We do not store raw passwords — Clerk handles credential management.

Glider data — information you enter about your sugar gliders: names, photos, birthdays, morph, source, pedigree, diet logs, and weight entries. This data is entirely user-generated — we do not infer, purchase, or augment it.

Analytics and crash reports — none currently. We do not use third-party analytics or crash reporting at this time. We will update this policy before adding any such services.

How we use it

To run the service — nothing else. Specifically:

  • Providing and maintaining the GliderCare app and website
  • Sending transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, material policy changes)
  • Improving the app based on how features are used (aggregate, non-identifying)
  • Responding to support requests

Sharing

We share data only with the vendors required to run the service. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or give it to data brokers.

Cloud hosting infrastructure — servers, databases, and file storage that power the app.

RevenueCat — subscription status management (communicates with Apple App Store and Google Play on our behalf). Privacy policy ↗

Billing itself is handled entirely by Apple and Google — GliderCare never sees your payment card details.

Retention

Your data is retained while your account is open. If you delete your account, your data is purged within 30 days.

Backups may retain data for up to an additional 30 days after the purge window. After that, your data is gone — we cannot recover it.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. To submit a deletion request, use our data deletion request form. For data export or other rights, email us at hello@glidercare.app.

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — delete your account and all associated data
  • Export — request a copy of your glider data via email

International transfers

Your data may be stored and processed in the United States. By using GliderCare, you consent to your data being transferred to and stored in that region.

Children

GliderCare is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us at hello@glidercare.app.

Changes

If we make a material change to this policy — such as adding a new data category or vendor — we will email registered users before the change takes effect.

Minor updates (clarifications, typo fixes) will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date without a separate notification.
